Tomorrow we go and see Dr Smith for a check up!! I am very excited about what is to come. She should be able to take her arm braces off and the stent in her nose will be removed as well.... I am not sure which one I am most excited about. She has done amazing with the arm braces and they don't bother her one bit. I do think she wakes up earlier and is taking shorter naps because she is uncomfortable, but she always puts her arm out after bath time to put them back on! She is such a trooper, I'm so proud of her! God is so good to answer prayer ~ this week has not been as hard as I expected, only because of His grace though! Even during my pitty party's last week before surgery He still granted me grace afterwards! We are so undeserving of his love, and yet He gives it and gives abundantly! Amen!

Last night our precious Emily curled up in my arms and sucked her thumb ~ and today she is looking at me showing me her arms and saying Uh Oh........ Wanting me to take off the braces on her arms so she can suck her thumb today!!!! Surgery went extremely well, it took about 2 1/2 hours total, surgery and recovery. We then were sent to our room and and she is sleeping well but on and off. She is watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and zoning out every once in awhile. God is so good, he gave me unbelievable amount of peace this morning and I have done very well today! Thank you so much to all of you for your prayers, and those who came to the hospital!!! We love you all so much

Not to much longer.....

Well tomorrow is a big day in the Mueller home...... Its a day we have dreaded and looked forward to all at the same time. Emily has her first surgery for her lip tomorrow at 9 am. I have broken down a few time ~ well many times ~ thinking about how things are going to change. I know this change will bring sadness and happiness as well. So here is a few thoughts that I have had about this surgery ~

Not to much longer...... she will be taking the last normal bath for awhile, we cant get her lip wet.

Not to much longer....... I will be watching her suck her thumb with her tongue waving over it and being able to see it. I will miss this so much.

Not to much longer........ she will be able to eat so much more!

Not to much longer...... she will not clean her nose out herself ~ I know gross, this is the one thing we will not miss at all!

Not to much longer...... we will be driving to OKC!

Not to much longer....... we will be preparing her for surgery.

Not to much longer........ we will be waiting in the waiting room for the Dr. to come out and tell us everything went very well.

Not to much longer....... I will be comforting my baby!

Not to much longer....... we will be seeing her new smile ~ but at the same time be missing the old smile!

Not to much longer...... we will be loving Emily's new face, and her personality that matches it!

Pray for bonding, comfort, a low level of pain, patience from me and daddy, quick recovery, and for Emily to be willing to wear the arm braces she will be in to keep her from touching her lip. :( Please feel free to call or text me anytime! We had a picnic in Enid with all our new found friends!!! We then played in the splash pad located in the park! The kids had a blast ~ even some of the big ones! This time is very special to parents and the kids because we are able to talk to people who have been through the same process we have been through and the kids are surrounded by people that look just like them! I love to see them all play together and have so much fun!! It is just an enjoyable time, with friends, family and all with things in common!

We clelebrate Freedom!

We celebrated our freedom at Grandma and Grandpa's house!!! We had dinner and I nice show in the backyard! Although the weather was not the greatest it made for a very cool evening! Ashley, Kaylee and Kuyler lit all our fireworks and put on a great show! Although this was the day after Falls Creek, we had a wonderful time and stayed awake! Emily seemed to like the fireworks, she was not scared of them, but we had a hard time keeping her attention! I love spending 4th of July with my family and look forward to the tradition to continue!! We love you Grandma Sue and Papa and Grandma Illene!!!!

Falls Creek 2010

Another fantastic week at Falls Creek ~ We had a wonderful bunch of students that were well behaved, excited to be there and very obedient to all the rules!!! We strive to not make Falls Creek all about the rules, but when our student abide by them it makes it so much easier for us sponsors. This year we were joined by another church in our community, and what a blessing it was to be one body of Christ and not two different denominations. God is good! All the time! Kaylee surrendered to Missions ~ starting at her school! Ashley committed to Christ that she would talk to her friends and really be that friend who loved Christ always and wherever she was! They both have upheld that promise and commentment and are excited about sharing with others..... :) This year I took Emily, and although that did pose some issues through the week, I was very pleased with the outcome. Emily did wonderful, sleeping all night and loved hanging out with the girls!!!!! I myself enjoyed having her there, it was just a challenge and difficult sometimes to not be able to do everything I was able to do in the past years!!! God really spoke to me about Faith, and how I have lacked it in the past few weeks, in the small things! Things are much better, and I'm still learning! Thank you God for meeting us there, but most of all for not leaving us when we leave Falls Creek! You are always with us to the end!

I'm am packed and Emily and I are headed to Falls Creek tomorrow morning. I still fell like God is teaching me something, so please pray for me and my focus! I am excited that I am going, but am still praying for a good week, and that Emily does well. I am excited about the bonding time between her and Kinley!!!

Update on Emily~ took her to Urgent Care, and the Dr said she is fine and no illness in sight. So he released us to go, still confused at why she has a fever. So long story short we are off to Falls Creek tomorrow and are very excited!!!!

My heart is broken ~

My heart is hurting so bad for my sweet Emily. We are a little confused because she is running a fever but we don't know whats wrong. We thought maybe she had Hand Foot and Mouth but there is no sores, we are also wondering if its Strep Throat, but we cant see her throat (that's an impossible task... lol). She scared me on Friday ~ she had a seizure while shopping in the city. After a ride in the ambulance to Children's OU, she was diagnosed with Fibril Seizures (which is a seizure that happens when your fever spikes suddenly). So scary to watch, and I felt helpless but had help from the store we were at immediately and the ambulance was quick. So with a spiking fever and an ongoing temp since Friday ~ we are very unsure what is happening. We cant get into our Dr's until Monday, but I'm thinking about taking her to Urgent Care today when they open.

My heart is hurting for Falls Creek as well ~ Our Youth group leaves tomorrow for Falls Creek and I'm unsure if I will be attending. I feel like I'm being tested, but I'm not sure why I'm being tested. I want to pass this trial, but I feel so sad, confused, heart broken for Emily, and upset that I could miss Falls Creek with my girls, Youth Group and great Sponsors!!! Please pray for Emily and myself ~ for an open mind and heart to what God has in store for us this week!!! Thank you to everyone who knew and have been praying.

Summer Fun ~

David and I was able to go enjoy some time together yesterday evening, and I must say that it is so nice to be able to have our girls watch her and know that she is very well taken care of. And can I just shout out to God for my wonderful husband who loves his wife and family soooo much! He is a Godly husband who is respected, loved my many, loves Jesus and does not hide that!

David and I went to see Karate Kid ~ and we were very much surprised, they did a great job at a remake that was so popular. I will say that there were many things that made us think of and miss China. I'm not going to plug the movie any more, but I highly recommend it & if you see let me know what you thought!!!!

Now while we were gone, the girls surprised Emily with some summer fun!! One of my girls favorite thing to do is play on the trampoline with the water hose and water balloons! So they took Emily out and had some fun ~ see for yourself.....

We are having a visitor this week, JJ is coming to stay with us while his 2 brothers and mom go to camp together and his daddy works. JJ is coming some time today, and stay through Thursday/Friday. I hope to entertain him with things that boys like to do, its been awhile since Kaeleb was here when I would play with him. Although JJ is older than Kaeleb, I still want him to have a good time while he is here. So plans are to go see Toy Story 3, swim a lot, and find some other things..... Leave a comment if you have any inexpensive ideas of what we could do????? Have a great weekend!

Simply Exhausted ~ but soooo worth it!

Last night we went to see Chris Tomlin and Tobymac together in concert with you Youth group!!! It was an incredible concert, the first hour and a half was all worship by Chris and the second hour and a half was a party!!! When I say party I mean it ~ Tobymac put on a great party for the Lord. All in all the night was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and being surrounded by thousands of people just loving Jesus! We did miss a special someone ~ she knows who she is!!!!

Update on Emily, she goes to the Dr. next Friday for an update on her tubes and she will have her hearing rechecked. We know that being "almost" 2 and not speaking all of our English language that she will ignore us, but we still feel sometimes that she is not hearing the best. She does respond but not to everything she should be hearing. This appointment will answer all those questions though!!! On the other hand, she is doing wonderful, loving life, and playing, dancing, singing, eating, just being a kid who lives in the moment!!!!! :)

We are busy with summer activities and just taking it day by day! Some days we are wiped out, and other days we just want to be on the go! We never know what the day holds for us, but we embrace it! We are looking forward to Falls Creek in just a little over a week. We have about 18 students going, and 6 or 7 sponsors! Once again Connie is doing a fabulous job at organizing FC and being a awesome camp director!! The count down has started!!! That's what going on in our neck of the woods!!!

Post Surgery & Some Fun

The surgery went extremely well, and very fast. We were some what surprised when the hospital called us this morning at 8 to ask if we were on our way. The appointment before us had cancelled and we had been moved up. So after some paperwork, we were called back to start the process. After some repetitive questions, we were then taken back for pre op, and I was able to go back with her into the surgery room. I know it was good for her, but not so good for me. She cried pretty hard, and I cried just as hard. We were then told 20 mins top, and in 10 mins our Dr. came out and said everything went very good and we could see her shortly.... Just a little more waiting and she was back in my arms. She threw up a few times, but nothing I could handle ~ and that's saying a lot. We left the hospital at 12 and went and had a bite to eat, and Emily ate as well! She is bouncing of the walls and acting just the same. She snapped out of it very quickly.

Surgery Time

Mommy is very quiet right now..... Lots of thoughts going through my mind. Tomorrow will be one of Emily's many surgeries. Tomorrow is a simple one ~ putting tubes in her ears. Although the surgery is simple and takes very little time, this mom is still nervous, scared, excited, and curious how it will go.

What we do know ~ we need to be at the hospital at 8:25, and the actually procedure will only take 10 minutes. As soon as the anesthesia wears off, we will be released from the hospital, and were told hat Emily would probably run out as if nothing would happen. We were also told that Emily would not hurt, and she would be mostly tired but no pain. I'm very anxious about the outcome of tomorrow, and hope and pray that all goes well. This is going to be very good for Emily for she has fluid in the middle ear, and this is affecting her hearing, as well as being prone to MANY ear infections. So we know that she will fell much better, and probably even have a better temperament, which is pretty good to begin with!!!! So please join us with prayer, and we will keep you posted on how it goes!! Thank you all, for you love and support!

The past few months have gone by so quickly…..

I can’t believe how much Emily has changed, but part of the reason I have not blogged was because of my attitude toward my situation. I was having a few attitude problems and was not sure how to share them. So my choice was to not share, although a very sweet person told me how I can give glory to the Lord if I don’t share where my heart is and how He changed it! (Thanks Erica ~ you knew exactly what to say) I was ashamed of how I acted toward my days that were, to say the least not pleasant. But my Lord never left me, I just had to open my eyes to see Him, and put my hand out for Him to lead me again! It was a difficult time, with lots of tears, struggles, moments of a break down, but milestones were meet, progress happen. I’m glad that we are currently pass that, and are having much better days!

So my apologies to all of you ~ I kept thinking of blogging but was really not ready. So please scroll down to see the past few months event by event. Hope you enjoy the pictures and my thoughts. OKC Thunder!

Youth takes a trip ~

This was a very fast pass trip to see our OKC Thunder play basketball! This was Youth Night, and they had a special time before the game for all the Youth groups, and had a couple special speakers, who were currently playing basketball for the Thunders.

We raced down there (thanks Clayton for getting us there on time and keeping us safe), had a very early dinner at Braum's, went to the rally, and then headed to the game! Our seats where in the, what they called “LOUD CITY”, and yes it did hold up to its name! The youth had a great time cheering for our team, enjoying each other’s company, and bonding as a group of fellow believers. This was also Emily’s first youth event, whew ~ glad it’s behind us because that was very hard to juggle! Both she and the youth needed our attention and she seemed to win! We will definitely think about taking her again, just because I want to be with the youth when it’s their turn. (I understand completely Connie what you have been saying all these years:)

The outcome of the game was: The Thunder lost by one, but it was an exciting game to watch! So close!

BARLOW GIRL

Oh my, was this a fun evening……..

Michelle, Hunter, Meghan, Ashley, Kaylee and I went to Woodward to see all these bands! It was an awesome concert, and we rocked the house out.
My favorite was Barlow Girl, and Kaylee and Ashley’s favorite was StellarKart. Both bands did put on a great show that honored God to the fullest! Barlow Girl gave an invitation and spoke of how God had changed lives and how He is still working in their lives!
The other part of this trip was being with Michelle, Hunter and Meghan…… We had many laughs, created memories that we will never forget, and of course missed our husbands! This was also the first time since we had been home from China that I left Emily at home. She did great with her daddy; on the other hand I missed her little lots. It was a great time away, and a wonderful evening! Thanks everyone for making a day to remember!

Dr. Smith meets Emily!

Today we went to Dr. Keys Speech and Hearing Center, and Emily was examined from HEAD to TOE! She did very well, especially for not feeling well at all! We seen a Dr. Simmons ~ counselor, Dr. Deal ~ Speech, Dr. White ~ Dentistry, Dr. Dandajena ~ Orthodontist, Genetic Dr, Dr. Hudson ~Hearing Specialist, and of course Dr. Smith ~ performing surgery on lip and palate!!! We feel in love with Dr. Smith immediately, he is wonderful, great with kids, and loves his job!
Of course the Speech Dr. was not able too much but ask us questions to see how she was progressing! She seemed very happy with where she was, according to our answers. But in the future, this Dr. Deal will be wonderful to work with and very helpful throughout the process. All the Dr.’s were great, and so helpful and willing to help anytime we need it. Dr. Hudson (Hearing) did some testing and Emily was diagnosed with a minor hearing loss. I was upset but assured that this was very common in Cleft lip and palate. Minor hearing loss could be caused by fluid in the middle ear, which would be fixed by putting tubes in her ears. She recommended that we had a second look by a Dr. Glade. Dr. Smith said we would have her lip and palate fixed by Christmas, and that we would be scheduling her surgery very soon. I’m excited and scared at the same time ~ if that is even possible.
I must share that we thought about going through the Shriners to have this procedure done. We prayed about it and really looked at the big picture and what is best for Emily. When God showed us that OKC would be better than Tulsa and going through the Dr. Keys team compared to the Shriners, we were a little surprised but open to the plan. Can I just say that my God knows best, we are so glad that God took us down this path. The Dr.’s are fantastic and we are excited about the fact that these Dr’s will be the Dr.’s we will see throughout this entire journey. God knows best, and may He receive the glory for all of it!!!! Praise the Lord we have started the next step of our journey!

It’s the big day!!!!

Kaylee graduates from 8th grade!!! Wow I can’t believe it, my sweet Kaylee graduated from Jr. High! What’s a mom to do; I know sit and reminisce about the past years, shed some tears and look to the future. I’m so proud of Kaylee and her accomplishments! Kaylee you wowed us as your graduation. Your speech was wonderful, well written, full of passion, and acknowledging the one and only Jesus Christ! You are an amazing, loving, caring, full of spunk, great sister, wonderful daughter and we love you with all our heart and are so excited about what God is going to do in your life! You have blessed us so much, and we know you will be so successful because you are so obedient to what God asks of you!

On April 17th Ashley went to her Jr./Sr. Prom!!! They really worked hard at decorating and planning this beautiful event. A student’s mom catered for the dinner, and it was wonderful. The theme was “Into the Night”. David and I were chaperons, and really enjoyed being there with the students. Prom lasted until 12 am and then they went to After Prom ~ hosted by the Sr. parents! Ashley was not able to take her boyfriend, Kuyler, but she did take a great guy. Her and Josh have been friends since PreK. All in all it was a great evening, with no mishaps and lots of fun!!!

Let me share a little about Ashley’s beautiful dress. She found this dress in a Prom shop in Enid, and it was over our budget. I told her not to try it on, because it would be her favorite. Sure enough that is exactly what happen. Much to our surprise, Meghan A had the same dress at home and the Addingtons said we could borrow it. We were so excited when we tried it on and it fit perfectly!!!! Thank you Meghan and Michelle, for making the night even more special!!!

I must start by saying Our Lord is so amazing! Not only is the He the only one who has Risen from the Dead and is still alive living among us all! Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior! The was He has worked in our lives is unbelievable sometimes, but at the same time so real that is it unmistakable as well. If you have any questions about my Lord and Savior please ask me!!!!

Emily is doing so well, adjusting very quickly, loves her family and her friends, sleeps well at night and takes a great nap, loves to eat ALL that is put in front of her, giggles, smiles all the times, runs, plays, and lights up when her sisters enter the room! I on the other hand am adjusting a lot slower than her. Each day is a new adventure for the both of us and she seems do much better than I on some of those days. We are so blessed by God, in so many ways and are thanking Him all the time for the way He loves us and blesses us each day! Hope you had a wonderful Easter too, would love to hear about it!

La La La La, La La La La, Elmo's World.... :)

A week or so ago, Emily and I went to Sesame Street Live!!!! Much to my surprise it was fantastic, we have not seen Sesame Street in many years, but I went to take Emily for some fun, and hang out with my aunt, cousin and her son!!! Did we have a blast, Emily did so well, we should go see Elmo every week! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the show!

Oh how time flies!!!!! Can you believe it…. We have been home one month; it feels like we have been home for at least 6 months! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Emily is doing so well, she is sleeping all night long, in her crib, eating three very good meals a day (when I say very good, I mean she can put the food away), she takes 3 bottles a day, and she switched to our formula with no problems, she loves to play with kids of all ages, loves her mommy and daddy, lights up when we go into the bathroom and she thinks she is getting bath no matter what time of the day, but when she does get in the tub she lights up the whole room with her excitement. She rides well in the car, and takes 2 naps ~ one in the morning and one in the afternoon, sleeping anywhere from 45 mins to an hour and a half. She loves being with other people but still knows who mommy is! She does still cry when I leave the room, and will not let anyone else give her a bottle (I don’t mind giving the bottle). She also has found a way to drink the bottle without having me squirt it in the mouth, and she has just recently learned how to drink from a sippie cup. She smiles from ear to ear when her sisters walk into the room, and has found a new love with our dog coco! She chases her around, plays with Coco and her toys, and laughs when she knocks her down….. All in All we are adjusting very well, and Emily is doing fantastic! Thank you Lord for listening to our prayers and answering them for your upmost glory!

Happy Chinese New Year to all! We were able to celebrate the new year with all our friends, in Enid. Our girls were very excited to be able to eat American Chinese food. We had a room reserved for us, and it was full. All together there were over 25 kids, and about 20 of them where Asian! We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed getting to see everyone again! Last year when we went, we wondered if the next Chinese New Year we would have our children..... God is so good, because it was a blessing to be able to spend it with our new daughters and sons! Emily you are precious and we are so excited that you are part of our family!!!!! We love you!

Why do we take prayer for granted, or just don't do it all! In all of the trials this past two weeks, I have prayed but have I prayed enough! Do I take it to the Lord all the time ~ I'm thinking I don't. I'm ashamed to say this, but I have been reminded the last past couple of days that this is what we are to do, and what a privilege that we can! So today I share:

"Pray about everything and fear nothing". He shows us that in every case, no matter how great or important or how small or insignificant, the solution is to pray!

Fear not, for I am with you: do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My right hand of rightness and justice... A Long Awaited Hello!!!!

Oh my it is so good to be home! But when we arrived home, things changed drastically! Good changes and not so good changes! Let me start almost 2 weeks ago,

We arrived home on Feb 6th to many family members and friends ~ THANK YOU again to all who were at the airport to welcome us home! It was so nice to be in Oklahoma, and to be surrounded by people who love us! We then were driven home and walked into our home welcomed by our two dogs. We were thinking we would not be able to go to bed, because it appeared that Emily was up for awhile! Much to our surprise, she went right to sleep, sleeping until 11 the next morning!!! This, we think is when everything changed! She had slept 10 of the 13 hour flight, our 2 hour flight to Tulsa, 2 1/2 hour drive home, then went to sleep again until 11 the next morning. It should have been no surprise to us when we realized that her days and nights were backward ~ to us not to her! We then had about a week of a very hard schedule! Many tears on her part and my part were shed. Frustrated, and sleep deprived mom was dealing with everything with not much grace! (on my part, not His, because he gave me grace every morning, but I didn't take it) Last Saturday she finally slept all night long, this mom was so excited, but stayed calm because I was not sure how long it would last. Giving all the glory to God ~ she has slept all night long since! We as a family are very much rested and are so happy that we have a schedule. Speaking of schedule ~ I am not a mom who sticks to a schedule, but have realized how important it is!

Now I must brag on my Lord, for because of His grace, we are right on schedule and doing very well. Each day, I must give the day to the Lord, even though I have not done that every morning. My God has been so good to give me what I need through each morning, each moment and each break down on my part. I have relied on prayer, encouragement from family and friends, and scripture! This one really spoke to me:

Isaiah 66:13

"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem"

I think there was times when I was not showing as much compassion to my sweet Emily, who is grieving, in a country that she doesn't understand, on a very difficult schedule, and just wants to sleep, and adjusting moment by moment! I must have grace and compassion for my little one, just like God has compassion for us! All in all we are doing very well, and are so excited about what the Lord has in store for us, in all circumstances! Thanks for the prayers and stopping by to say hello, the calls, and the wonderful dinners that were cooked for us! They were so much appreciated ~ what a blessing!

We are at that final day, Am I ready????? I'm lacking confidence that I am, I don't feel like I am packed, when in all reality I think I am .

We are headed to Wichita tonight with dear friends, looking forward to the evening. Plan on having dinner and just chatting! I will be relieved when the packing part of the trip is over, I just want to board the plane. Although I am not a big fan of flying ~ I am looking forward to the trip over there, call me crazy!!! Not sure why I am but I'm thinking it will be that moment when it all sinks in..... As I was laying in bed last night thinking of what I should be doing ~ it occurred to me that I would be crying (more like sobbing) if my girls where not going with us. So I must praise MY LORD some more, for allowing this to happen, making everything work out, and for answering our prayers and giving of what our hearts desires!!! God is so good, and He gets ALL the GLORY for this part of our paths, all being His plans from the beginning!

DAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE!

Today I have to do some catching up, yesterday was not the most productive. I have most of the list from yesterday and have to add the list for today. I'm not complaining, just was hoping yesterday would have went smoother. I did get to have some girl time with two very dear friends, and that helped the day lots! But today is a new day, and I will rejoice and be glad in it, because my Lord has given it to me!

My list for today:

DAYS LEFT!!!

Yesterday was a great day, we (Linda and I) got all the list done!!! Thank you so much Linda for ALL your help, it so much appreciated, and your were a blessing to me! I also am praising the Lord for the miracle at the dentist, YES He did, He gave us a huge blessing and saved us $$. Kaylee is still paying somewhat for her irresponsibility, but I think it is a lesson she is learning ~ just slowly!

I'm afraid I will be in Enid awhile today, so if that is the case it may be a late night!

I would like to ask all of you to please pray for David, for he is sick and has not been feeling well for a couple of days. It will be very hard to fly with a sinus infection (?), and we are worried about the swine flu, and the actions that China would take if they think he is sick with it. So please just lift him in your prayers, praying for quick health! Thank you all for everything you have done for us!

Days until we leave!

We are preparing each day for our departure, but still have much to do! Packing, cooking, bank business, Hair Appt, and then add in some bball games and you see we have a full schedule! We are so ready to go! Today we are looking forward to spending some time with our church family this morning, and we thank them for all our support and encouragment they have given us! Many blessings to all of you!

Now on another note: Happy Birthday Mom!!!! We love you and are so blessed that you are wonderful mom to David and I and a awesome Grandma to Ashley and Kaylee! Hope you have a wonderful day!

From This to That!!!!

We are calling this post from This to That...... Many things in our household has been transformed from good to WOW!!!! We have been working on organizing, revamping, and rearranging. The biggest transformation in this household would have to be with out a doubt...... Kaylee!! After a few phone calls and a reschedule, much to her surprise, she was able to get her braces off 2 weeks early! I know, I get mommy of the year award!!!! She was speechless when she found out, we had kept a secret for 24 hours ~ difficult but worth it. Her teeth look fabulous!!! Thank you Dr. B for all the hard work, and Kaylee I'm so proud of you! You did so good at taking care of your teeth, never breaking a bracket ~ which is quite a task! You are so beautiful Kaylee!!!!

Another transformation is we have been working on Emily's/Kaylee's room for awhile now, a little here and a little there! We are very pleased with the way the room turned out, as far as space. We didn't redecorate which posed a problem ~ but not to big of one for my mother in law. We finally found some bedding that matched but it was not for a crib, but my mother in law made it to fit the crib and it looks beautiful. Kaylee is very excited about sharing with Emily ~ I hope this stays for a long time. When Ashley leaves for college, Kaylee will get her room with a complete make over! She feels that is a fair trade :) Our biggest challenge was making the somewhat small closet fit both of their clothes. David tackled the challenge and made it work, with even room to spare. Great job Dad! We are just about finished ~ waiting on one piece ~ all we need is Emily! The Lord has blessed us in so many ways, and we are so thankful!

Wow the days are going by really fast!!! I cant believe that we are leaving in a week and 2 days. It really is here, will someone pinch me because I am still not fully comprehending it ~ I think. Oh I know that I'm leaving and my tickets are booked, but we waited so long for this moment that I think sometimes I feel that it isn't really happening.... I am doing little tasks each day, but don't feel like I am marking much off the list!! One major thing that I checked off the list ~ Root Canal!!!! Can I say Ouch, and Whew its done! I'm so glad that my dentist was able to work me in and fix my tooth. No pain while in China is a must ~ because I am a whip!!! lol Really glad that appt is behind me

Ok how about an 80's flashback!!! It is Spirit Week at our school for Homecoming!! Each day brings a new theme, yep you guessed it today's theme is decade day ~ and Ashley thought that 80's would be the best one. This decade is very close to my heart ~ no particular reason! Great job Ashley ~ You look marvelous!

Now onto the pressing stuff ~ I pulled the luggage out of the closet today! Many of you are thinking I would have done that already, but if you know me at all, you would now that I over pack! So the less time the luggage is out, the less I will pack. At least that is my hope! Connie said "You can do this", and I needed that! My pastor said "No one will notice if you have make up on our not." I beg to differ with that one, so BF I will pick something else to downsize with!!! :)

Looks like I have a lot of organizing to do, so I must go and organize something!!! Surely I can fit all this stuff into 5 pieces of luggage!!! Oh but wait, I need clothes too, wish me luck!

CA ~ Consulate Appointment

We are very excited to say we have a CA on Feb 3rd!!!! This means we are to travel out of Wichita on January 22nd at 6:10am and returning home on Feb 6th at 10:30 pm in Tulsa!!! I cant believe the moment is finally here, I must go start packing!!! Lots to do! Thank you for all of your prayers, and for following us through this journey! I have started a new blog but it is not quite finished will announce that site asap!!! Love you all!

TA is on the way!

What a surprise to hear from our agency today!!!!! We have been informed that our TA (Travel Approval) is on its way. We have nothing in stone as of now, but we do have some dates to work with. We were so surprised to hear this when in reality we were expecting TA around the 15th of January. I still think we are in shock, and disbelief! My mind is racing with thoughts of were to start next, what do I do, and who do I talk to! Our family has been turned upside down ~ for a good reason ~ but still upside down. My Lord must receive all the glory for this day and journey to this point. He has answered all of our prayers, made things happen that should have not, changed peoples hearts toward adoption, made us truly understand how He adopts us with His love, dive deeper into His word, definitely pray more than ever before, showed us so many lessons that may have taken us longer to have learned than He wanted, but truth be known, it is and was ALL HIM, NO ONE ELSE...... We praise Him, our Heavenly Father for all He has done, and for all He will continue to do! There is no one or god like my God, and I give Him all the glory and praise, from the bottom of my heart, mind and soul!!!!!! You are so Good! Happy 2010 everyone..... I hope you had a wonderful 2009 year and are looking forward to the year to come. I know that our family are looking forward to 2010, for many things will happen in this year! But as I think about what is to come, my mind reflects on the events, blessings and wonderful times we had during 2009. The year was filled with many things we want to praise God over once again.......

I praise the Lord for so many things like the fact that we had time to spend with Jon and Raegan the first of the year, remembering old memories and making new ones! We finished our home study to start the next step. We attended our first Chinese New Year, this was difficult at times but we made some very awesome friends that understand our journey. We had many days of wonderful beautiful weather through out the year. We had some very dear friends live with us for a couple of weeks, and although it may be hard to understand, I love to open my home to family and friends. When we moved into this home, we gave it to the Lord so that we could use it to be a blessing to others as much as it has been a blessing to us! We have had many donations to us from family and friends toward our adoption. Some we know their names and some we don't, but thank all of you! We seen our friends go through some very difficult times, and come through with God always there with them. We seen many miracles with friends and families and love how we see God working all around us. David and I had some wonderful getaways, one to Ft Worth, and the best was the one when we went to A Weekend to Remember with very dear friends to us ~ thank you again A & L. We are blessed to have seen our girls grow closer to the Lord and making good decisions, and being good examples to all those around them. Many wonderful memories include the Youth group, but one of them would be when we decorated the Youth room, wow does it look awesome ~ wtg Youth! Ashley got her drivers license and bought her first car this year.... so proud of her! Kaylee got to ride in a 1959 Corvette, I list this because it was very exciting for her. We started E-meals, and love some of the recipes that we have tried and enjoy trying new ones. David, Kaylee and I seen the Musical "Lion King", this was really awesome! Ashley joined the National Honor Society through our school. Coco joined our family, and oh is she so cute! Even at the puppy stage she is cute! We were blessed by so many people during our garage sale fundraiser, thank you for all your treasures that helped bring our little girl home. My girls and I joined my mom and had a much awaited trip to Branson, just like our older trips. We seen Noah the Musical and shopped, shopped and shopped some more! We had a wonderful week at Falls Creek with the Youth, and was blessed by the youth group, and love to see them grow in the Lord. We, after much waiting, seen our daughter Emilys picture for the first time. When we received our referral, it made the wait even harder, but we were on cloud nine when we seen her. Our family was turned upside down in one other way...... Would have never guessed how much the musical "Wicked" would touch our family. I was blessed to see it 3 times, but the best was when I was able to go with Ashley and Kaylee (seeing it for the first time). Then when our girls worked hard to act out one of the scene from the play called "Popular" and perfected it, i was impressed once again. Wicked will always be a special memory that we will treasure. David and I celebrated our 19th anniversary. Emily turned 1 year on August 29th, and we have pictures to treasure of that day. Along with 10 other women, I did a Beth Moore study on the Fruit of the Spirit, and boy do I understand Patient much better now. Beth Moore's studies are such a blessing. We also introduced "More Precious than Gold" jewelry, and my our God has blessed us through this fund raiser! Ashley turned 17 and Kaylee turned 14! We received LOA, and were blessed by our church when they gave us a wonderful shower, and we received so many wonderful gifts, thanks again to all! We are blessed by our family and their love they show to us and we are so thankful for our friends who love as well. God has been so good to us during the year of 2009 and we look forward to all He will do in 2010. We know that we will see our precious little Emily this year, Kaylee will graduate from 8th grade and get her braces off & Ashley will go to her Jr prom. We will attend Falls Creek again and Live for God daily! May you have a wonderful year filled with Joy and many blessings! We thank God for all He has done for He has truly blessed our family! We love you all!

Article 5

We received notification that our article 5 has been signed and sent to CCAA in Beijing!!! I know some of you are thinking what does this mean now? Well this means that our TA ~ travel approval ~ will be coming in 3 to 4 weeks. This is very bitter sweet for us, because we have been waiting for Article 5 for some time now, and now that we have it, it has opened our eyes to our timeline in regards to our girls traveling with us. On that note ~ we have had another option open up for us! We are not sure what we are going to do, but have talked to the girls and we have some more talking to do later...... It has been a day of emotions for us but we are so blessed to have received the news today and be one step closer to TA :)

Good Morning,

I'm sure that all of you are getting ready for the Christmas festivities to come, or re cooping from the ones that have already happen. Christmas is a little different for us this year, we are not spending what have in the the past, because we hope we are not here. Lots of waiting this season, usually its waiting on Santa, but that's not the case this time. But the reality is that our Article 5 should have been signed and sent to Beijing already, and its not so TA still looks aways away. Things we are waiting on:

1. Article 5 to be signed and sent to Beijing

2. TA ~ travel approval before Dec 18th :)

3. Ashley to take and finish her first ACT test

4. Decision to purchase gifts for all

5. Kaylee's teeth to quit hurting because of the rubber bands

6. Kaylee's braces to come off ~ Jan 27th

7. But most important ~ Gods Timing!!!!!

Today is a special day for my girls, because they spend the day with their grandma and grandpa, eating, shopping and the big high light of the day ~ LOOKING AT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!! David and I will spend some due time together, since we have been so busy! Looking forward to some time with him having dinner and maybe doing some Christmas shopping!

I have been very busy on the fund raiser party orders...... Thank you all so much for your purchases, we are truly blessed to have your help through this wonderful, incredible journey! Much love to all, and enjoy your family time during the holiday season!

Please allow me to share, I have been doing a Beth Moore study now for 10 weeks, and it comes to an end tonight! :( I have learned so much by Beth Moore ~ we have been studying the Fruit of the Spirit! I have really learned what love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control really are! I have learned how to apply them ~ through God filling me, not be doing something myself! The few that I was worried about didn't even mean what I thought they did! Oh and Patience ~ learned the most about that one! It has been a wonderful time of learning and hanging with ladies every Thursday night! I know that I only will have the Fruit of the Spirit by emptying myself and allowing God to fill me, so I must be with Him daily, praise Him through out the day, pray to Him every morning and through out the day, share with Him, and love Him as He loves me!

Good Morning to All

What a wonderful weekend we had! I hope it was wonderful for all of you as well. It started off on Friday when we got the call from our agency saying that our provisional approval was a Yes. Then more good news to follow. But before that I would like to share with you something that has been very close to David and I heart. We have thought about this from the beginning of this journey. David and I would like to take our girls with us to China, and as we have progressed, we are realizing that so many things have to happen in order for the desire to come true. The first thing we must do is give it to the Lord, we are trying to do so many things in our timing, in our own strength, and in our own resources. We know that we must let God do all of this and just let Him have it. But I would like to ask all of you that is willing to join, to join us in prayer. We know that if God wants our girls to go, they will go! So we are praying boldly and continually that He will allow them to travel with us and meet Emily the first time we do!!!!!!! Now~more good news, we felt we had missed the deadline for traveling with our girls. Our agency told us that we are about 4 to 5 weeks out from TA ~ travel approval. This means it is still very possible for us to travel around December 25th ~ Woo Hoo! We need TA between Dec 18th and Dec 23 to make this possible. With this timeline they would only miss 6 days of school, which is wonderful for both of them, because Ashley will stress over homework and test that she missed. So with this good news, we are still hopeful (patience with circumstances) that we will travel by the end of this year. :)

Now for the rest of the wonderful weekend. Our wonderful church and some fantastic ladies gave us a shower on Sunday. I was so excited for it, that I woke up on Sunday morning earlier than usual and could not go back to sleep. One of the hostess's asked what would you like at the shower, and I said "Cake and her", my wish was granted. she was there and we had the best cake in town ~ tasted wonderful! We were showered with gifts, to name a few ~ lots of pink clothes, pj's, shoes, blankets, bows, diaper bag, diapers, toys, bottles, practical tools to make life easier, and the last but not least..... A crib that has a built in changing table, and will also turn into a full size bed in the future!!!! God is so very good. We are currently waiting for our LOA to be shipped to China. First we must go through the paperwork approval at NBC in Chicago. We are about to the end of that wait, and then our paperwork will be cabled to China and begin the work for Article 5. We are currently in the 1 1/2 week of our 6 to 8 week wait. We know that it will be worth it, but still very hard some days. I am so amazed at our journey of Faith to our sweet precious little girl ~ Emily. God has done some incredible things and changed some point of views in all our family. I thank God for the blessings that He has given all of us, and I thank Him for what is to come for the Mueller family! God you are such an amazing God, faithful and just, loving and forgiving, full of mercy and compassion!!!! Thanks for checking in with us and your comments! We love you all!

Ok let me start by saying today was not what I had expected it to be. And yet it all started last Friday, when our LOA had been sent to us via Fedex. We didn't know that had been, but it was. We had come to the conclusion that we should have our package stopped in OKC and we would drive there to sign it and return it asap to K. I sent an email explaining this to K and gave her the address on which we wanted it remain. When we received the the email back explaining that K had already sent it our way.... Yipee I thought we will have a day earlier. Can you believe it! So last night we began to prepare for LOA arriving and we would immediately head to Enid and send it back. We then heard that the package was not coming until tomorrow and it was currently in OKC. A few phone calls, we had requested that they hold it in OKC and we were coming that way. We hopped in the car and was about to head to the city, when we called to assure that it was being held. They told us OH NO we cant hold it for you, it is in the city but we cant release it to you until tomorrow. I refused to take that as the final answer but I was not the one on the phone with Fedex. So the final update on LOA is that is guaranteed to be here tomorrow by 7 pm, shipping via Fedex. Frustration filled me, but I only had a pity party for a short while. Tears streamed down my face, but I quickly realized that I am NOT in control. He is, not me. Why we are waiting is beyond my abilities, but I don't mind because He has proven over and over that He knows best, and who am I to doubt that. I do ask that you continue to pray for us and we continue this journey, with Faith in our Christ Jesus. We love you all!

Oh my goodness... This mom is doing the happy dance! (and you all now that I cant dance). We are on day 94 of the wait for LOA, and today we received the very important email saying "Your LOA is on its way"...... Thanks Karla! During our bible study, and after I had shared my heart with what God had shown me this week about Peace, and being still and wait on him, my sweet husband came in and shown me the email. Now you know that I gasped and took all the air out of the room. Everyone reaction was priceless, and I was quick to share that we had LOA...... :) Praise you father, because your timing is best. I know my focus was on other things regarding the adoption journey. When I confessed that to Him this week and my dear friends, He delivered that very thing I had given to Him. Where my focus was on, to my surprise He still told us tonight that it could be very possible. I am in Awe, but not of Him because He is a God that loves me, answers my prayers, listens to my dreams, and praises. I am so excited to see the timeline before us, and have peace about it. Thank you my father for always being there even when I could be pushing you away!!!! I love you Lord, and Emily we are one step closer to holding you my precious daughter!!!! :)

Hello all,

We have been waiting for LOA(letter of approval) for some time now, and still no news :( but much to our surprise we had an update on our baby Emily! As far as LOA, we have our paperwork done and we are just waiting for our agency to call us saying that they have it.

Now for the update..... We asked our agency to see if we could get an update around Sept. 1st and we were so excited to see this today. We got measurements of her and weight as well. She weighs 18 and 1/2 pounds and her foot size is 2 1/2 ~ 3 inches. She has a lot of hair, but still cut in a short do ~ :) Her mommy thinks she looks so sad, and just wants me to come and get her. Her crib looks lonely and she needs a buddy!!! Enjoy the pictures of our sweet Emily and keep checking in with us, we expect LOA soon!

Ok no doubt in my mind...... OU wins! But, I had a opportunity to travel with the Ringwood FCA to FCA gameday at OSU. We were able to see a football game, have a FCA rally and hang with other students within our school who share the same beliefs! It was a lot of fun, even though we were at a OSU football game. Lots of orange all around us, with a few crimson and cream shirts mixed within ~ Brave souls! The final score was 56 ~ 6, of course OSU favor. Makes for not much excitement but lots of touchdowns! The other team was Grambling State, known for being "The Best Band in the Land". They really put on a show! Anyways..... I may be an die hard OU fan, but I must say WTG OSU!

Good Evening all!

I must share with you whats on my heart. I am overjoyed, overwhelmed, and over filled with Gods love. I have been preparing my heart for a Bible Study that God laid upon my heart many months ago. As we embark upon a journey through they fruits of the spirit tomorrow, I must share that I am really excited and scared at the same time. I so want to please God in all I do, and I know I can do this and will do this, but Satan is attacking me in all areas of my life. I must focus on Him and all He is going to do for me during this Bible Study. Tomorrow evening I, along with many other ladies, will begin a Bible Study entitled "Living Among Ourselves" (a study on the fruits of the spirits). This study is done by Beth Moore and I so LOVE her work and how God has used her to do big and mighty things. My prayer is that I will be open to Gods words and teachings. I think in my mind that I know the fruits of the spirit that I MUST work on, but I want to open to God and honest to myself with the ones that I felt were ok or better than ok. Lord, please speak to me about all the fruits of the spirit and let me focus on your will not mine. Thanks for listening to me, and letting me record my thoughts! What a blessing to be woke up at 1:30 in the morning...... No really it is when I hear "April are you awake?" I was thinking what and why? He said it again and I responded..... He then said "Get up we got pictures!" Well you can imagine that I was up and out of that bed in nothing flat!!!!! We have been waiting for these pictures for a long time, but the wait is over and so worth it! Emily's birthday was August 29th and we sent her a cake to help her celebrate and hopefully get some pictures. Well that prayer/wish came true. What a blessing to have organizations, like Ladybugs~n~love, serve adoptive families. They are truly a God sent gift to so many families that are waiting to hold their precious children. Thank you so much Ladybugs~n~love! Now for what you all have been waiting for ~ especially me and my family ~ God is so good to us, even though we don't deserve His love, mercy, or gifts. He still gives them to us, because He loves us so much. Thank you God for all the blessings you have given to us, individually and as a family. We are truly blessed. Fair Week

We are enjoying the fair week so far. We have an event each night through Saturday night. Monday was bingo, and last night was the pageant? Both girls were in it and I will post more about it later. I am working on the video of Ashley's talent. I will tell you that Kaylee is Miss Cinderella 2009 and Ashley received Personality Plus and 1st runner up. I am so proud of both of my girls, they make me smile and my heart swells with love for both of them. They both did so well last night and well did all the girls. Congrats to all the winners. I must give a very special THANK YOU to Brian for all the hard work you put into "Popular". We are all very appreciative...... :) Also I must thank AF, Tina, LP and KR for all the support and help they gave me and my girls as well, I would have never made it with out them. Tonight was fellowship where we ate fried chicken and had live entertainment. I sang with two other ladies tonight. It is so much fun hanging with everyone as one body of Christ. Hello all, as I sit here in my living room checking my email at least once an hour, usually more than that, I sit and think about the journey we have been so far. It starts with the desire to adopt, and then wait on Gods plan, then thinking He changed my heart, wait on Gods plan, desire returns, wait on Gods plan, talking with husband once more, wait on Gods plan, take first step in adoption process, wait on Gods plan, here the news this little girl file has been sent back to CCAA, wait on Gods plan, pray and are given a glimpse of His plan and proceed with adoption, wait on Gods plan, fill out paperwork, wait on Gods plan, receive two referrals and making that most difficult decision, wait on Gods plan, receiving our little girls information and picture, wait on Gods plan, wait on PA, and still waiting on Gods plan. I know this seems like a lot of waiting, and yet it really has not taken us very long to get we were are today. As we wait for LOA, I think how much will we wait, and when I think of waiting, the thought comes to me "It is worth it" His plans are perfect, and as I look back there is no doubt that His plans are worth waiting on!

Now you ponder why is she checking her email every hour..... We are expecting pictures of our precious little Emily any day now! Also would you please keep D & T in your prayers during this difficult trial they are facing right now! Many blessings to you all!

One More Step Closer

Much to my surprise, we are at our one month stepping stone toward our LOA (letter of acceptance). I am taken back to the moment when we first started our journey, and how excited I was and how blessed we were that God had chosen us to adopt. Today I am still excited and even more blessed then when we started. Our Gods plans amaze me every day, and how He knows each and every step we will take, exactly who will run into each day, the things we will say (sometimes not to His glory), the actions we make public, and yet He still loves us, and wants to spend time with us despite the things we have done.

As far as the one month anniversary (ha ha I feel like a teenager celebrating the 1st month of a relationship) we do now that it takes 60 ~ 90 days to receive our LOA, and although 1 month does not seem like a lot, it is to adoptive parents, because we know we are one month closer to holding our precious girl. How I long to hold her, kiss her, and just look into those eyes and say "Mommy's here". We pray that our LOA will be closer to the 60 days, and we will see Emily before the end of the year. I do know that the enemy is attacking, and all of our adoptive families needs prayers. So please continue to lift us all up in your prayers, because we all want to hold our children that God has chosen for us! With that we do know that we will see and hold them soon! May God Bless You Today!

Emily's Care Package

We are so blessed to have found a organization to send a care package to Emily. Thank you so much to Connie, for sharing this company with me. Within the picture are books (6) and a doll for Emily. Candy and nuts for the orphanage care takers, and hopefully they will take pictures with the camera. This care package makes me happy and sad at the same time. I want to hold my little girl so bad, and when she receives the doll and books I want to be there to see her smile. We also sent a cake to her ~ to be delivered on or around August 29th. This will be a celebration of her 1st birthday. We do hope to receive pictures then, and will be able to see her on her 1st birthday. Emily ~ WE LOVE YOU. YOUTH Time

Not much in our adoption journey happening as of right now. So I am posting on those everyday life events. Very excited to be joining our Youth group this Friday and Saturday to go to YEC. YEC (Youth Evangelist Conference) is for the Youth to encourage, train, and inspire students to see their school as the mission field God has given them. It is filled with loud rock bands, (don't get me wrong love these bands) which include Skillet, Group 1 Crew, Blue Tree and Jeff Johnson. This is a overnight event, with lots of Worship, teaching, learning, fellowship, fun and laughs. Looking forward to hanging with our Youth Group. :)

Today we enrolled in school, although I am not in school, I seemed to have more paperwork to fill out then they did. Ashley will be a Jr this year (I know one of the hardest years) and Kaylee will be in 8th grade. The big 8th grade graduation this year, Jr/Sr Prom, college prep, and both of them will have many games (basketball, fast and slow pitch softball ~ Kaylee, and Fast and slow pitch softball ~ Ashely) Well we don't start school until August 13th, it feels like it should start in a few days. I think they are both excited as much as they can be........ I don't know about most of you, but every time I enroll my children, I feel even older, I know the reality is that I am, but I don't need the reminder :) Talk to you all soon!

Hello All, I hope you had a wonderful weekend, spending time with your family, worshiping the Lord, maybe even cleaning...... We had a really good weekend, you might remember that we redone our bathroom a few weeks ago, and I said I had hoped to install a shower into the tub. My husband decided that this was the weekend. I am very excited to say, that we (mostly him) finished it Sunday @ 10 pm. We really didn't even fight, and pretty much agreed on the decision to be made.

I am also very excited about Tuesday night. I have tickets along with my husband to go see Wicked the Musical. I have seen a little bit of it in San Antonio, only seen the second half due to a severe asthma attack. So you can imagine that I am very excited about going again to that I can see the first half..... :)

I must start by saying that our God is so good! I have been feeling that this week is going to be an incredible week, and that is all going to start today! My heart and prayers go out to the Johnson's today, please lift them in prayer! God will answer those prayers today, with great expectations. Also I know that the Hamm's are waiting on paperwork today, My prayer is that they receive that today. We have been waiting on PA (pre approval from China). My God is so good and we just received PA about 20 minutes ago. I am so excited to announce to all of you my precious little girl EMILY......

Her birthday is August 29, 2008 (almost 11 months old), and her special need is Cleft Lip and Palate. Here is one cool part of her story, she is at the same orphanage that Kambry (Clayton and Connie's little girl) is from. Can you believe that, the entire country of China and we share the same orphanage between our daughters. How cool is that? Our little Emily is very little at that, she weighed 11 pounds at 6 months. Our entire family feel very blessed to call her our daughter and can't wait to hold her, hug her, kiss her, and just be mommy! All in all today we are expecting a Y E S (just pray for that), PA (pre approval), word from CIS (Hamm's) and LOA (Johnson's). That is a lot of the alphabet, but our God can deliver and will!

A Busy Week

Hello to all of you,

VBS is going very well. Tonight will be our last evening. We have been studying Peter and his faith, relationship with Jesus, forgiveness from Jesus as well. Tomorrow will be our program, the students are having fun as well.

Also tomorrow will be the "Gulicks" biannual Reunion. We have a reunion every 2 years taking us to Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma. This year it is in Fairview, we are looking forward to getting with some very special cousins that I have not seen in a few years.......

Most of all this week we are waiting on "PA" (preapproval from CCAA). It can come any day now and we are waiting patiently..... I want to share my little Emily with all of you, it is so hard to wait now. We now who a daughter is and that makes the wait even more difficult. This week has also been very difficult for our dear friends, Connie and Clayton. Please lift them up in prayers! We love you all, and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

We as a church are so excited about starting VBS tonight! Connie and I will be teaching 5th and 6th graders, which we have been doing for a few years now, but we love this age group. There is so much work involved with VBS, and many people are praying for the students, workers, teachers, directors, and our pastor. This is also the first year that both my girls will be helping and not attending as a student. Kaylee is the Kindergarten leader, and Ashley is the music director assistant. Both of them are very excited as well to be helping. And as for me, a mom, my heart is filled with joy to see my daughters serving the Lord, their church and community. Many thanks to our directors L and A for ALL the hard work they put into VBS. WTG ladies, we appreciate all you do! Must go know so that I can help Connie with prep work........ We (me and Kaylee) started a project today...... We have needed to redecorate the bathroom since we had the garage sale. Sold all of our decor to a very special lady, who put it in her bathroom.

So we headed to Enid to buy paint and supplies, but the big purchase was the primer that would paint over 25 year old wallpaper. Was very excited that we did not have to take wallpaper down. While we were in Enid we ran into some dear friends (Tina, Ty, and Aidan) and they went to Lowes with us, bought the stuff and for some reason they wanted to help. We came home, taped off the walls, and began to prime wallpaper........ Why we were surprised when it didn't work is beyond me. But it didn't and as much as I didn't want to we were stripping wallpaper........ AHHHHH! The project ended around 10 o'clock, and we will paint tomorrow.

We are so blessed to share with you, that we have a new addition in the family. She is 10 months old, and her special need is a cleft lip and cleft palate. I will share much more when I am able to! Hello all, hope you had a wonderful time with family celebrating our freedom within our country, and our freedom of being able to share the gospel, love our Lord out loud, and pray in schools.....

We had a great time at my parents celebrating with my parents, and brother and his family, and my Grandma! We had tacos, and played Rock Band, dominoes, and shot fireworks for at least 2 1/2 hours! We caught up on old news and learned new things as well. Really enjoyed the time, oh yea by the way, I got 100% while I was singing on Rock Band!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo, I rock!

Yesterday I was reminded of a parable in the bible. In Mark 12:41-44 it tells of a widow women who offers a small offering (in our eyes) while a rich man offers a large offering. They all gave out of their wealth: but she , out of her poverty, put in everything-all she had to live on. Mark 12:43-44 Now this person who came by to see us yesterday was not poor, but was a teenager and gave us a donations for our adoption. When handed to me, my heart melted, because I knew she had given from her heart, not her wealth. What a special gift, one that I knew is truly a gift of the heart!!!! SOMEDAY WHEN THE KIDS ARE GROWN, things are going to be a lot different. The garage won't be full of bikes, electric train tracks on plywood, sawhorses surrounded by chunks of two-by-fours, nails, a hammer and saw, unfinished "experimental projects," and the rabbit cage. I'll be able to park both cars neatly in just the right places, and never again stumble over skateboards, a pile of papers (saved for the school fund drive), or the bag of rabbit food---now split and spilled. Ugh!

SOMEDAY WHEN THE KIDS ARE GROWN, the kitchen will be incredibly neat. The sink will be free of sticky dishes, the garbage disposal won't get choked on rubber bands or paper cups, the refrigerator won't be clogged with nine bottles of milk, and we won't lose the tops to jelly jars, catsup bottles, the peanut butter, the margarine, or the mustard. The water jar won't be put back empty, the ice trays won't be left out overnight, the blender won't stand for six hours coated with the remains of a midnight malt, and the honey will stay inside the container.

SOMEDAY WHEN THE KIDS ARE GROWN, we won't run out of toilet tissue. My wife won't lose her keys. We won't forget to shut the refrigerator door. I won't have to dream up new ways of diverting attention from the gumball machine . . . or have to answer "Daddy, is it a sin that you're driving forty-seven in a thirty-mile-per-hour zone?" . . . or promise to kiss the rabbit goodnight . . . or wait up forever until they get home from dates . . . or have to take a number to get a word in at the supper table . . . or endure the pious pounding of one Keith Green just below the level of acute pain. Yes, someday when the kids are grown, things are going to be a lot different. One by one they'll leave our nest, and the place will begin to resemble order and maybe even a touch of elegance. The clink of china and silver will be heard on occasion. The crackling of the fireplace will echo through the hallway. The phone will be strangely silent. The house will be quiet . . . and calm . . . and always clean . . . and empty . . . and filled with memories . . . and lonely . . . and we won't like that at all. And we'll spend our time not looking forward to Someday but looking back to Yesterday. And thinking, "Maybe we can babysit the grand kids and get some life back in this place for a change!"

Could it be that the apostle Paul had some of this in mind when he wrote:
"I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am."

Good Morning to all! I hope you have had a wonderful week, I have. For the first time in all the years of working with the youth, and attending Falls Creek I have never been so excited about the first time that all of my family would be there. David and I as sponsors, and youth staff and Ashley attending her 4 year and Kaylee her very first Youth Falls Creek. Kaylee has been going to Falls Creek for many years but never to Youth Camp, just Kids Camp (which are different). This years Falls Creek week was no different than the years in the past. God had plans for each one of us, to speak to us all and draw closer to each one of us. He spoke and we listened. Many decisions were made and a couple of "Echo" groups as well. "Echo" groups are 2 or 3 students getting together to meet every week and worship the Lord, pray, study and serve in the church, school and communities and spreading the gospel to all. I am very excited about their plans and love for each other.

We had wonderful cooks, and sponsors. Our pastor and camp director was awesome and all of them served with all their hearts. Already missing the laid back feel of Falls Creek.

Our Sunday Falls Creek program went really well. We had 5 Baptisms and almost all of the students shared with our church what God had done for them personally. Looking forward to seeing all the students staying with their commitments to the Lord.

On news for our adoption process: Our Dossier was sent to China on Friday, and we are praying for a shared special needs list to come out soon. We will keep you posted!!!!!!

Do you remember the things you did when you were a child, or the things you did after your child was born? The traditions, or special memories that you will never forget. Maybe it was a trip somewhere or a special gift you received, or holiday memory that has become a tradition, well we have had a special trip for many years. It all started when we planned a trip to Branson, during the normal Spring Break time during school. My girls were not in school so it was very easy to keep to this trip for many years. The closer to school age the harder it became to go! At the time of full time school, the trip became very difficult and eventually we didn't go anymore. Many times we wanted to but once again our schedule or my moms would pose a problem. This summer my mom and myself said "We Must Go Again"........

On June 12th we loaded up my Durango and headed to Branson...... We were so excited, could not wait to do the many things we had done when we were there many years ago. We had planned for Noah the Musical, Silver Dollar City, Miniature Golf, our favorite restaurant, Hard Luck Diner, and of course shopping, shopping and more shopping!!!! We were able to do it all, and have many laughs, nights of games and another great memory to add to our collection of so many. Enjoy the pictures of a well awaited trip to never forget.........

A Long Awaited Hello!

I know, I know, I know! I have not blogged in over two weeks. I would like to say that I am sorry, but it was something that seemed very hard to do. I avoided it for awhile, and kept thinking that I needed to say something. Our family went through some very difficult times during the adoption process. It has passed us now, but the hurt is still there. Although we felt we did exactly what we were suppose to do. Due to the sensitivity of the difficult time, I will not share all of the details. One of those reasons is it is so hard to put into words that make sense. We did receive two referrals(on two separate days), and as a family made the decision together, to decline the referrals. It hurts so much to even put that onto paper and see it in writing. We are fully aware that God is in control, and has already planned our journey and it is up to us to be obedient, and faithful to Him. We have not second guessed our decision, just have felt the pain creep back in. Our Awesome God has already picked out our Emily, and we can't wait until that day comes when we see her face to face, and give OUR DAUGHTER her first hug and kiss, and we know we can't let go.

FAITH ~ Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. "

GOD IS IN CONTROL ~ Psalm 32:8 The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."

Falls Creek part A

We had an amazing time at Falls Creek for Kids Camp the past few days. I went to be a cook assistance, and had a great time. K and B did an amazing job at planning and organizing, and cooking the food. We had so much fun in the kitchen, with many laughs, spills, and great entrees. Of course we always come up with some phrase that sticks with the sponsor group. Our phrase this week was "Do the Dump" I know you are wondering what in the world. But we did not have a lot of left overs at a couple of meals and we kept debating about throwing it away or keeping one serving size. So we would always say "Do the Dump"......

My girls went this year as well to help babysit A and A for a friend that was helping cook as well. They did very well and even got a "Icee Date" with Bro. Brian, even much to my surprise I got an Icee Date too! We left early to go to MA graduation in Clinton. Wow 100 graduates and they still did the service an 1 hour. We hung out for awhile in Clinton and came home. Long drive and had a hard time staying awake, must have been tired because I slept till 11:20 on Saturday morning. Now I still fell tired because I slept to long. :) Well today brings for a day of nothing and hanging out with my family! Have a wonderful Saturday!

Garage Sale ~ Success

Wow what can I say........ One thing comes to mind ~ Praise you Lord, for you supply every need and every dollar through this journey. Our Garage Sale was a huge success, we had beautiful weather, children that were willing to help, lots of stuff ( I means tons), many people to shop, a very WILLING, GIVING, AND SUPPORTIVE family to loan the home, supply food, and cool house to come to when we were so hot we could not stand any more, and a serving heart. Thank you so much Bart and Doris, may you be blessed a hundred fold for the blessings you have given us.

We did have many trailers of treasures, and a wonderful almost 72 hours of being together consistently. :) but that ok we are all are like family. You really could say that our Garage Sale was a mini Wal-Mart......... We had a clothing department for adult, children and babies, housewares, seasonal, home decor, bedding, electronics, books and magazines, accessories (purses and handbags) shoes, toys, and gardening! ~ A Mini Wal-Mart!

Garage Sale

I am so overwhelmed by the wonderful donations of our friends and families that have given to our garage sale fund raiser. We have so much stuff, that unlike in the past, we are going to have many trailers to haul it to Enid. I have already talked to my aunt and uncle to make sure that we can use every inch of space they can provide us with. We will load today and haul tomorrow, and set up the entire sale tomorrow as well. I know that the Lord is going to provide so much for us that my heart will be filled with more joy than it can handle. I am very excited to be doing this, because I love garage sales. I can assure that I will get very little sleep because I will be thinking, breathing, and worrying about every garage sale detail. Bring It On!

So much has been happening in my household, so sorry about the lack of post. Erica is home and had a wonderful trip, we seen pictures yesterday and heard all about the people she meet and what she did while over in Guatemala. Erica said "It really opened her eyes"! I will keep you all posted on the sale and how things are going! Love to All!

Dossier!!!!!

Good Morning All:

We are very excited to share that we have received I800 approval on Monday, and our dossier have been sent of to our agency. Our dossier has been sent on Monday and have already been called to be told that our agency had received it. Our I800 was approved in about 45 days, and sent to us. So the dossier is paperwork that is sent to China, our agency is doing the necessary things to it to prepare it for China. I am not sure when it will be sent over to China, but I do know that once again Gods timing is perfect. We are very excited for this step of the journey, and with the I800 approval we can be matched with our forever daughter!!!!!!

PS: Congrats to the Johnson's family!

She has been obedient to Gods calling and is going to Guatemala for a week to share Christ and serve those in Christ's name. I am so proud of her and I ask that you join me while I pray for her safety, witness, obedience, opportunities, Gods will, and fun. She is very excited to working for the Lord in a different country, and I know that God is going to great and mighty things through her and the group of students that she is traveling with.

Puppy Love!

Kaylee has been wanting a puppy, even after explaining the process of pottie training, feeding, caring for, and of course the best part of playing with the puppy. We pushed her off as long as we could, but the last past few weeks she has begged, pleaded even asked nicely. Last week we went to SPCA in Enid to look at the dogs they had there, but they had no puppies. So yesterday while I was in Enid, I seen some puppies for sale, private owners. I went and looked, and did I mention that I have a heart for puppies too. She was a long haired Dachshund, 2 1/2 months, brown in color, curly hair on her ears, and the cutest eyes ever. After they held her for a me for a few hours my girls came in took one look at her and she was sold. Our dog Cookie is doing really good and ignoring her, but being sweet when needed.

Pass the word. We have postponed the Garage Sale until the weekend of May 22 and 23rd. Due to weather complications, and SO MUCH STUFF, we think it would be best to have it another weekend. It is suppose to rain on Thursday, Friday and slight chance Saturday morning, that we would probably be running to protect our precious treasures. Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE DONATIONS THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED. You know who you are, and Connie and I are grateful for all that you gave. To LS, AF, LW, and EL, thank you for your help yesterday as well. Because of you we are priced, packed and ready to have this and all we have to do is set it up!

So much to tell........ Last Tuesday David and I had our fingerprint appt. It went well, they were very nice and treated us well. Unlike past visits for the Johnsons. Of course we got the same ole answer........ How long you ask, we have no idea? Hopefully this week we will no something about our I800 and have an approval. We have spoken to a representative from Homeland Security who has told us that our I800 has been approved upon fingerprint clearance. So now the waiting begins again. We are almost ready for our dossier to be sent. We just need I800 approval on paper and my birth certificate. (which comes from Ca, so wait on the postal service) We have everything else.

Also this week we will start what seems to be the never ending pile of garage sale stuff ~ treasure. We as a family have been working all weekend on finding, pricing and packing all our treasures. Thanks to those special people who bought before so that we don't have to pack it up. We have cleaned out cabinets in the kitchen, closets in the laundry room, and in our bedrooms. We have also went through and got rid of some of those items you never think you can part with until there is a child in the picture that is waiting for you to come and hold him or her. Our garage sale will be May 8 and 9th and we will price, pack and load up all the stuff ~ treasure at the church that has been donated to us. Thank you so much to all of you! Connie and I feel this is going to be a great garage sale because the Lord has blessed us by so many donations by friends, family and church family. We also have the best treasures of all from two previous garage sales. We are truly blessed to be loved by so many people who want to help us bring our little girl home. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

We are happy to announce that our little girls name will be: EMILY!

This is something that we as a family wanted to do together and we have come to the agreement that this is her name, not sure about the middle name but we are 100% sure that her first name is Emily, so now in our prayers she is prayed for by name!

It is with much excitement that we also share that Ashley has applied and has been accepted to be part of the National Honor Society through Ringwood High School. Honor Society is based on GPA's and volunteer work and accomplishments. Her ceremony will be Tuesday night. We are very proud of you Ashley!

We have been working on our dossier this morning. We are either waiting on the paperwork to be sent or returned to us, or it is complete. I had a secret weapon, Connie has been here all morning helping us. I want to thank you Connie for all your encouragement and help. I know it would have been done, because it has to be, but it was much easier and fun with your help. Thank you for giving your time, and making sure we are completely ready for CIS approval.

Fingerprint appointment is tomorrow, and we will get passport pictures as well. It has been a great day!

Lion King ~ Broadway!

We had a wonderful treat of being able to go to the Lion King ~ Broadway production in OKC. The production was incredible, amazing and awesome. Very hard to put into words to describe the experience. I did find a video that give a sneak peak in the Broadway play. People play the animals and sometimes you have to remind yourself of that. The singing was incredible, very talented people have been chosen to be a part of this. What a special treat, Ashley did not get to go due to softball, so I am hoping that I will be able to take her back before the production ends in OKC. Anyways wanted to share with all of you, if you get the opportunity to go, DON'T PASS IT UP....... Have a great weekend!

Monkeys, Giraffes, Kids and Cars!

We are so fortunate to be a part of a wonderful company that David works for. XTO is all about the people that work for them. They put family first, they even have a grant for adopting families that work for them. We are truly blessed to a part of XTO. This past Saturday we had the company picnic at the zoo in OKC. We have a beautiful zoo that is spread over a very large area of land. They are always improving our zoo, we even noticed that in the upcoming future they are adding an Asian exhibit to the zoo, filled with the animals and culture of Asia. Very excited about that. We enjoyed the weather on Saturday, it was very beautiful day and a lot of fun with my girls, Erica and Kuyler as we hung out and laughed all day long. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Also on Saturday my sweet, getting older daughter bought her first car. We went down early on Saturday morning so that she could car shop. Our first car on the agenda was a 2002 Ford Focus, unfortunately the pictures of this car were taken strategically, not showing the flaws that were really hard to get by. So after looking at the car Ashley decided to keep looking for other cars, keeping the Focus on the list. We then went to a few dealerships, and ended up at a Mazda dealership. They had a Lincoln LS, that at first sight looked like a "Grandma Car", but after a test drive Ashley was convinced that it was not. She loved it! It is a Maroon 2000 Lincoln LS with some real nice features, that she bought and paid for herself. After much back and forth she even got it for $300 dollars less than the top of her budget. We are so proud of her and her determination and willingness to work hard and save her money to purchase her ultimate dream car. Way To Go Ashley!!!!!!!

Two Hands

There is a song on the radio called "Two Hands" by Jars of Clay, that is really speaking to me. I have shared with my mentor, even this week that I feel that my life sometimes is so busy that I am not stopping and listening for Him, and what could I be missing because of it. A quote from "Two Hands":

"I have one hand pulling you closer and the other to push away, If I had two hands doing the same thing, lifted high, lifted high."

I do feel that I am pulling Him closer and the other hand in the since is pushing away, because it is so busy doing doing doing, that I am not seeking Him with my whole heart. I want two hands doing the same thing, worshipping, reading my Bible, praying, and teaching. It takes both hands to do this, and although I am doing them, but my other hand is busy doing something else. Every time I hear this song, it speaks loudly to me!

I would like to share this as well:

"We need not fear what our obedience will cause to happen in our life. We should only fear what our disobedience will cause us to miss."

With this statement from a book "What happen when women say YES to God" is goes right in with my scripture this morning:

"And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness - secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who call you by name"

May you seek His will and direction, just as I am striving to do each and every day, so that you do not miss out on what He has for you. These things are far better than anything we can imagine.

I have been inspired by my friends Tammy, Connie, and Linda. I have checked on Tammys Monday Menu, and would think wow I wish I could be that organized. Then Connie tells me about this web site called e-meals, and how wonderful it is. My friend Linda signs up and raves over the recipes. So today I have signed up for this wonderful menu planner, that does all the work for you. I am very excited, I even showed my husband the menu and asked him if there was anything that did not sound good...... I know risky!!!! He said "No, everything looks really good". My friend Linda said "My youngest daughter even likes it", and Connie has said "one meal said it would take 30 minutes to prepare and it only took 23" E-meals plans the menu ~ including side dishes ~ makes the grocery list for you and tells you how much it will cost...... Totally worth $5 a month. I will have to let you know what my family thinks when the first meal is prepared and if my youngest daughter likes it as well ;) Looking forward to enjoy the cooking time instead of the time it would take to figure out what we will eat. Kaylee's Special Treat

What a treat for Kaylee......... By very dear friends own a very beautiful 1959 Corvette. This corvette was restored to its original show room floor quality. (Down to every little bolt) This corvette was featured in Corvette 50th year celebration parade, also including an article in "Corvette" Magazine. I will say that I am afraid to touch this Corvette, more or less ride in it. I would love a ride, but would be scared the whole time. The treat for Kaylee is she DID get to ride in it during a Corvette show in Enid. She was so excited and loved every moment of it. Riding with my friends granddaughter "S", they lived in the moment, and enjoyed the looks from many people. They were only in the Corvette for about 5 minutes, but Kaylee said it was the best 5 minutes ever! Thank "A and R" for giving Kaylee this great treat!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter, celebrating that He is Risen! We had a wonderful Easter, starting with David going to Sunrise Service and having breakfast with our community. As a family we went to Services and caught up with many guest we have not seen in awhile. Pastor Brian gave a wonderful sermon on Matthew 28, and we focused on Jesus was not there, He is Risen, just as He said He would. After services we were able to have lunch with Matt and his wife Jacque. They are here for about a week, and it was a real blessing to be able to spend some more time with them. Jacque is a very sweet lady, and Matt loves her very much. We wrapped the evening up, by sitting on the couch and watching the sadest "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition" I have ever seen. I hope that this Easter created memories for you to remember forever!
